Some projects come with long lead times, structured briefs, and plenty of planning.

And then… there’s this one.

The Problem: A Website Delay With Real-World Consequences

We were first approached by the team at the Studio of Saint Philomena to help with some video content - filming to help tell their story. Cameras in hand, we headed out to location, not knowing a much bigger conversation was about to unfold.

While filming, a casual chat turned into a serious issue: their website project had stalled. With just 12 days to go before 60,000 printed prayer cards were released - each linking to the not-yet-existent website via QR code — they still hadn’t even seen a concept.

Understandably, the stress was real.

They gave their original designer one final shot. When that didn’t work out, they came back and asked us the big question: “Can you help?”

They handed over the files with just two days to go.

And we said yes.

The Solution: A Two-Day Website Build

There’s a certain adrenaline that kicks in when you’re working on an urgent website design project with a hard, immovable deadline. The QR code was already printed and live - failure wasn’t an option.

In just 48 hours, we:

  • Designed, built and launched a five-page website

  • Matched the new branding, tone and purpose

  • Delivered a fast-turnaround website that was clear, clean, and functional

It was a challenge - but one we were proud to take on. And it meant the Studio of Saint Philomena could confidently launch their prayer cards across Aotearoa with a working, professional online presence.

The Outcome: Live, On Time, With Purpose

Was it ideal timing? Not even close. Was it possible? Absolutely - with clear communication, trust, and a lot of hustle.

We’re proud to support an organisation doing meaningful, faith-filled creative work in New Zealand, and even prouder to help when they needed it most.

What’s Next: Supporting Long-Term Vision

This was just Phase One. Now that the pressure has eased, we’re partnering with the Studio of Saint Philomena to:

  • Expand functionality

  • Add an online store

  • Refine content and imagery

  • Continue aligning the site with their evolving vision

It’s a perfect example of how sometimes the design process starts not with a brief, but with a problem - and solving that problem with care and speed is where we thrive.
